I am an over-packer. I tend to go through various situations in my head thinking, what if I need… In reality, I never really need that polka-dot blouse I put in my suitcase at the last minute. Then took out. Then put back again.
Over the last few years, however, I’ve started traveling quite a bit, and I’ve grown to become quite the opposite of an over-packer. So I’m here to give you a few tips on how to bring the best part of your wardrobe and achieve the look you want in just a carry-on.
Fasten your seatbelts.
1. Plan your outfits. Something I noticed in my over-packing life is that I tended to end up with too many articles of clothing when I didn’t think ahead about my outfits. I grabbed the best of my wardrobe and called it good. Pack pieces that could go with a couple different outfits.
2. Scarves are a shirt’s best friend. A great way to bring various looks with you is to accessorize pieces. Instead of packing so many shirts, pack fewer shirts and a couple scarves.
3. Roll ‘em up. Roll camis, light shirts, tights, etc. to ensure more space in your bag.
4. Unmentionables last. One of the best tips I picked up! Since they will fit anywhere and conform to any space, fit all undergarments in whatever space you have left.
Hope these tips help you to pack your way to a lighter bag and a vacay full of style!
