How To Use Quinoa

Let me start out by saying quinoa freaked me out before I used it.  I’ve been curious about this weird mystery of a grain, so I thought I’d venture out and make a few things try to make a few things.  I cooked up a pot of quinoa [1 cup Q, 2 cups water] and made breakfast, lunch/dinner, and dessert.

Breakfast: Breakfast cereal 

Inspired from this recipe.


1 Cup cooked quinoa

A dash of Almond milk

Pinch of cinnamon

2 Pinches of brown sugar

1/2 Cup blueberries [or as many as you like]



[Remember to rinse quinoa before using] Bring 1 cup quinoa and 2 cups water to a boil and let simmer for 10-15 minutes.  Add desired amount of almond milk and let simmer for about 5 minutes or until it comes to a light boil.


Add blueberries, cinnamon, brown sugar. [You can also add honey, dried fruits, or nuts.]
