Thanksgiving Cranberries
First of all, a shout out to my mother-in-law for prompting me to write this post! (I made this so-easy holiday side dish last year at her house.)
I learned of this incredible Thanksgiving cranberry sauce recipe from my dear cousin in Kentucky. My mom makes it every year on Turkey Day. It’s delicious and have I mentioned — incredibly easy? So much so that I find myself making it year round!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
1 orange
1 bag of fresh cranberries
½ cup sugar
WHAT YOU DO:
Juice the orange into a small sauce pan. Dump in your bag of cranberries and your sugar. Cook on medium heat until the berries start popping open. Continue cooking on medium to low heat until all the berries have popped open and the sauce begins to thicken.
That’s it! You can eat it warm or chilled — both ways make the perfect combo with that Thanksgiving bird!
TOTAL COST $4.74

I LOVE this recipe and its the way we’ve always done cranberries in our family. But for an added zing, zest the orange and put that in too. That’s my fave. Is it Thanksgiving Day already?

Oh great idea! I’ll definitely be adding some zest this year. 🙂
