The holidays are expensive. Whether it’s traveling, buying loads of food for multiple big dinners, or just getting gifts for everyone on your “nice” list, money is insanely tight this time of year.
But don’t worry! We are here to help. Here’s a quick gift guide to a few items that are cost effective and make completely lovely gifts for everyone on your list!
A Bottle of Wine
I’m talking one bottle here, ladies. You don’t have to get anything too fancy. (I usually pick the bottle under $10 that has a cute name.) Wrap it up nicely with a beautiful bow and add a heartfelt letter. I also suggest letting the vino connoisseur in your life in on the app “Vivino.” It allows you to keep track of all the wines you’ve tried.
We all love spreading that holiday cheer by sending Christmas cards to our friends and family, but those cards can get real pricey real fast (especially if you want the fancy ones with glitter)! I recently discovered how easy it is to make my own. I took an old gift bag, some stationery, ribbon, and tissue paper and got to work. I am not the craftiest person pinning on Pinterest, so I assure you this is a craft that can be done by anyone. Your friends and family will appreciate the extra personal touch. – Kaitlin
We’ve all got a book lover in our lives. I think there’s something magical about old books. If those pages could talk, right? Your local thrift store is a great place to score books for cents, and I’ve no doubt you’ll find a literary treasure that will be the perfect gift for the reader on your list.
Look no further than your Instagram or Facebook page! Print out one of your favorite pictures of your friend or loved one and slap it into an adorable frame! Wrap it up pretty and watch the tears fall and the hearts melt.
Looking for the perfect movie lover gift? Check out Half.com or eBay.com for some great deals on recently released DVDs. There’s bound to be a film there that will be the perfect addition to your friend’s collection.
With the holidays come New Year’s resolutions. Help your friend or relative keep track of the next year of their life with a personalized journal! You could even write little notes throughout to keep them motivated. If you’re really crafty you could even make the journal yourself!
