DIY Hairdos Like The Celebrities Do

If you’re tired of throwing your hair back in a ponytail every day to steer clear of a bad hair day, it’s time to learn some simple DIY hairstyles that are quick and simple. Easy to do for everyday, check out these options.

Braided Bliss

Braids of any kind are a super hot trend right now. Recently, Olivia Wilde made a TV appearance sporting a Heidi braid. Earlier this year at the Kids’ Choice Awards, Kristen Stewart wore a fishtail braid, exuding a sense of casual elegance. This look can best be accomplished with the use of texturizing products such as Fekkai Perfectly Luscious Curls Activating Spray.  Sasha Coefield is a hairstyle guru with a YouTube channel that boasts over 120,000 followers. She recently wrote a book called DIY Braids that has easy-to-follow instructions and helpful tips for creating stunning looks.

Modern day Marilyn

Christina Aguilera’s back on the scene looking very hot and very lean. Her Marilyn Monroe look on The Voice was all thanks to celebrity hair stylist David Babaii. “I call Christina my modern day Marilyn Monroe because she has all the curves, beauty and gorgeous blondeness that the actress possessed,” he said. “In tribute to both, I wanted to create my interpretation of the actresses’ iconic look merged by merging the past with the present.”

Here’s what he did to get the look!

  1. Applied Big Sexy Hair Big Boost, an amplifying, texturizing and defining creme that helps create and re-create touchable, flexible styles with voluminous results.

  2. Blow dryed with a medium round brush to form lift at the base.

  3. Used a 1” curling iron to create loops by wrapping hair sections around the inside of the barrel, leaving the ends free. After each loop was created, wrapped it again, but around two fingers.

  4. Secured with a clip to allow the spiral curls to cool.

  5. When finished, removed all the clips and gently started finger combing through the curls.

  6. Pumped up the volume with Big Sexy Hair Powder Play for instant lift.

  7. Finished it off with Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play, a fast drying hair spray that leaves hair manageable and super shiny.

Maximum style

Glee’s Jenna Ushkowitz looked great at the American Music Awards. Celebrity hair stylist Helen Jeffers created a simple blowed-out look with maximum shine and great curls at the bottom. Here’s how to do what she did:

  1. Section off hair into three main parts. The first begins at the bangs and ends at the base of the neck. The other two, one on each side, run from the crown to below the ears.

  2. Now make ½-inch deep sections across each main part, spraying with a generous application of Bumble and Bumble Tonic Lotion and Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray from root to tip. Apply the high heat setting of the hairdryer and a medium sized boar bristle round brush. Pay particular attention to the roots to give them volume.

  3. After blowdrying, set and pin hair until the entire head is done.

  4. Remove pins section by section, spraying each one with White Sands Liquid Texture Firm Hold Thermal Styling Spray and wrapping it from tip to root in a large barrel, heated iron. This seals the set and gives texture and a long lasting hold.

  5. Loosen up the curls and run your fingers from root to tip; style around your shoulders.

  6. Finish off the style with a generous application of White Sands Stuck Up Mega Hold Hairspray. This flake free product repels moisture and gives the curls luster and shine.
