One of my favorite things about spas and fancy hotels is the bougie water they have. You know, those beautiful carafes filled with water from the Swiss Alps and fruits that are filled with antioxidants and detoxifying properties. (I should probably mention here that my experience at uber fancy hotels is limited to a small handful, and I’ve only been to a spa once on my honeymoon.)
But let’s get back to the fancy water.
What’s stopping us from making our own detoxifying water? I don’t know about you, but after a long day of sitting at the computer and snacking on anything I can find, I could use a refreshing glass of cleansing water most days.
Here’s my favorite “recipe” for detoxifying water.
You will need:
fresh mint leaves
a jar or water bottle with a large mouth
Slice your lemon and cucumber and tear off a few fresh mint leaves. Drop your ingredients into your jar or water bottle. Pour in some filtered water and let the delicious liquid percolate in the fridge for a few hours so that all of the goodness has time to fuse together.
This is so refreshing; it will help flush toxins from your body as well as help to curb bloating. I also find it easier to drink more of this water than plain water.
So, let’s be bougie and drink spa water!
