Summer Sangria
With the warm weather, a recent weekend favorite at my house has been sangria. If you aren’t familiar, sangria originates from Spain and Portugal. It normally consists of wine, chopped fruit, sweetener and a bit of brandy. Warm weather or not, this is one of my favorite beverages!
Here’s the way we’ve been making it this summer.
You will need:
1 bottle of red wine ( I usually prefer a bottle with a dry flavor profile.)
½ bottle of sparkling water (San Pellegrino)
2 oz. triple sec
2 oz. brandy
¼ cup simple syrup
sliced oranges
What you do:
Combine your ingredients in a carafe or pitcher. Stir until combined, chill, and enjoy! I usually serve this over ice as well.
