Decor By Color: Navy
One of my favorite ways to think about designing a room is by color. Once I pick my anchor color, the wheels start turning about complementary textures, accent colors, and furniture.
Today I want to share some home decor inspiration using the color navy. Navy is rich, classic, and a great neutral alternative to black.
Taking a bold color and applying it to something that is normally black or brown adds unexpected interest to any room. I love how this homeowner painted their book shelf a rich navy. The various shades of brown add warmth to the room, and the blue really invites you in to pull out a book and stay awhile.
Any sofa that is velvet has my attention! Velvet and navy in the same couch is an absolute show stopper.
If navy is a little too bold for you, try using it as your graphic accent. Vertical stripes can make the room feel bigger, and is great way to add a nautical sophistication to your master bedroom.
Not sure what to pair with navy pieces? Try navy and coral!
Or navy and yellow!
