A House Of Cards Weekend

This weekend was filled with catching up on laundry, calling family, and binge watching House of Cards. The only thing that made it more magical was cool and rainy weather. Perfect for a weekend in!

Wine, cheese, and other nibbly things seemed like the perfect way to kick off the viewing party. I love pairing sharp cheese with fruits and honey, and soft cheese with nuts and hummus — delicious!

Saturday morning called for another viewing session. (Don’t worry, we made a plan to do chores in between each episode. We’re not THAT crazy.) This mug is a testament to my mother’s excellent gift giving skills. It also prompted me to call her and my grandmother. That really does keep me calm.

Why have one cheese board, when you can have two?

I don’t want to spoil this season if you haven’t finished it yet, but I found myself thinking a lot about Claire’s storyline. She and Francis have finally made it to the White House. They got what they wanted. But Claire isn’t satisfied. She wants more. I’m not really sure what yet, but I kept thinking about how it seems that unless we are happy and content in the little things — decisions, daily tasks, etc — will we be content when we achieve the big milestones in our lives? Anyways, what did you think of this season?

I hope you all had a relaxing weekend. Here’s to a great and productive week!
