The Bourdain Scramble
I’m really into cooking shows. Particularly food and cooking documentaries on Netflix. I can’t get enough! Recently my husband and I have been sucked into all things Bourdain — he has several shows that now live on Netflix.
Recently we’ve been watching the Layover. In this show, Tony Bourdain shares what to do food-wise if you have only a few hours or days in a particular city. It’s fun — I recommend it!
While on a layover in Los Angeles, Bourdain stayed in a suite at the Chateau Marmont and was excited that he was able to cook himself breakfast in his room. This is what he made.
You will need:
butter
scallions
bacon (thinly sliced)
eggs
cheese
sour cream
In a hot skillet, toss in a nob of butter, the bacon and the scallions. Brown until the bacon is almost crispy.
In a bowl, crack and scramble as many eggs as you like. Add the scrambled eggs to the hot pan and incorporate. Add a handful of shredded cheese and season with a bit of salt and pepper. Just before the eggs are finished cooking, swirl in a dollop of sour cream.
Now Matt won’t eat eggs any other way! Enjoy!
