When Matt and I were first married, we lived in a neighborhood of San Diego called Normal Heights. Our parents thought this was hilarious because I am 5ft tall and Matt is over 6ft tall. We’ve since moved away but love venturing back to some of our favorite places when we were first married.
Next to Normal Heights is an adorable little area called Kensington. It’s full of craftsman homes, local businesses, and great restaurants. One of our favorites is Le Bleu Boheme. As you probably guessed, this is a French restaurant. The decor and food are rustic and charming. We’ve been here for every meal from brunch to New Year’s Eve and loved every bite!
We stopped in last weekend for a Sunday brunch. We sipped peach mimosas and ordered up basil eggs benedict and a savory waffle with bacon and eggs on top. Yum!
While you wait for your food they bring out this homemade crusty bread that is worth the trip in itself! The homemade butter and jam are to die for.
Yes, San Diego is a great place to hang by the beach, but there are some adorable little neighborhoods a little inland that offer amazing dining experiences. If you can, definitely make a stop in Kensington.
