Matt and I just got back from a wonderful week in Marquette, Michigan. We visited family, soaked in the crisp air off Lake Superior and indulged in more than a few delicious Yooper delicacies. Matt and I spent a lot of time in Marquette when we were dating, and we were married in that little town. We love going back to spend time with family and enjoy a much needed break from the hum and hustle of work and life.
Here are a few highlights from our trip. We had an amazing time! I’m happy to be back in our routine and am excited for the coming months — it’s going to be a busy summer. I can’t wait to share it with you bougie people!
This trip, Matt and I really enjoyed biking around the lake. The breeze was cool and town was only a few miles from the house we were staying at. We enjoyed more than one ride into town to indulge in Donckers ice cream cones.
Aforementioned ice cream cone.
This trip, I experienced ear candles for the first time! My mother-in-law used these when my husband and his siblings had earaches or colds growing up. I have to say I was very skeptical but my ears felt great afterwards!
We took an afternoon trip to do some antiquing in Negaunee. Apparently we missed the Mr. U.P. Pageant, but these mannequin ladies were quite the show.
The house we stayed at was right on the lake. We enjoyed several afternoons sitting by the water and catching up.

‘Til next time, Marquette! You stay beautiful.
