If you haven’t heard, Matt and I are moving! We will be saying goodbye to San Diego and hello to Washington, D.C. in August. Matt will be getting his master’s in PR and Communications at Georgetown University. I will continue with my social media management job while we are there and, of course, keep blogging!
Cross country moves are crazy. Matt and I have both moved around a lot so we aren’t strangers to the process. Because we don’t own a lot of the furniture we have now (it belongs to our landlords), this move shouldn’t be too cumbersome. Yay!
This also means that we get to style our new place from scratch! I’m excited. Today I want to share a couple mood boards I put together for our new space. Our new apartment is going to be significantly smaller than the place we are in now, so it won’t take much to fill it. Also great. For our wallet.
Our overall color story is shades of gray and white with pops of soft yellows and blues.
The colors are a little more literal on the bedroom board but I think there’s still a through line into the styling of the living room with the gray pillows and yellow candle accent.
We won’t necessarily get these exact pieces but when you’re decorating a new space, having a vision for the space before you go out shopping can keep you from buying things that don’t work or won’t match the style you’re going for. I like to keep these boards on my phone and refer to them as we are shopping for our home.
