Makeup Essentials

Today I’m sharing my makeup essentials. These are the only makeup items that will be moving with me in a couple weeks.

Makeup collections are funny. If you search on YouTube, you will see hundreds of videos filled with drawers and drawers of cosmetics and products that probably rarely get used. Personally, I like to have enough variety to change up my look depending on the occasion, but a small enough collection so each item gets used.

L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation “Classic Ivory– I used BareMinerals exclusively for a couple years. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a fan of their products but I’ve found this option to be cheaper. Plus, I love this foundation! I have oily skin but when I use this, my skin stays matte and flawless for the whole day. It doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing makeup!

Revlon Photo-Ready Translucent Powder – I’m no makeup guru so when it comes to setting powders, I really can’t tell much of a difference between brands. This one from Revlon isn’t too expensive and doesn’t add a weird white cast or shadow to my face.

Your Minerals Setting Powder – I received this in a BoxyCharm a few months back. It’s a bit more of a luxury item so I like to use it for fancy occasions and date nights.

Revlon “Racy Rose”  – Of the two blushes I have, this one is more on the subtle side. It gives me a healthy flush without looking cakey or unnatural.

Milani Baked Powder Blush “Coralina” – I love this product in the summertime! It’s got a peachy warmth with a little shimmer and looks great if you have a little color on your skin.

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette – Eyeshadows tend to scare me. This palette has every color I think I will ever need! The packaging is also slim, which is great for travel.

Ofra Eyebrow Pencil “Universal” – I have always used powder products or even just eyeshadow to fill in my brows. I got this in a BoxyCharm and have really liked it! It took some getting used to and I’ve had to go in with a lighter hand, but I think the end result is much more natural looking.

Nars “Heatwave” – My favorite orange-y toned lipstick. NARS is on the pricier side but this shade is worth it. It suits my skin nicely and looks perfect with a denim dress and straw hat.

Revlon Ultra HD “Petunia”  – My purple-toned favorite. This line of lipsticks from Revlon are some of the most hydrating lipsticks I’ve ever tried! Sometimes purples shades wash me out, but this has just enough pink in it to keep me looking glowy.

Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Intense “43 – Moulin Rouge” – My classic red. Like NARS, this is more of a luxury brand but is perfect if you want a quality, classic red lip in your rotation. This formula is matte which makes my teeth look nice and the formula is amazing — it won’t move at all once you’ve applied it.

Maybelline “Pink Me Up” – My everyday pink. This is my “your lips but better” product and what I always reach for when I don’t have time to think about what to wear. It’s understated and lovely.
